"God of War: Ascension" (PS3) is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. A prequel in the God of War series, Ascension explores Kratos's early days immediately after he breaks his blood oath to Ares and before the events of the original God of War (2005). It features single-player story content, a revamped combat system, puzzles, arena-style encounters, and (notably for the series) a multiplayer mode.
